Life Will Find A Way. 2024

I will be honest, I follow a lot of photographers on Instagram. especially those that photograph small frogs and for some reason fungi. I find them both to be fascinating and often a subject of my work. I like to take these real life creatures and mix them with a bit of effect mediums to create a mystical or dreamlike painting.

This painting was inspired by a photograph of a Beech Mushroom. I added some interference effects to give this painting a magical appearance. The background colors change and bend depending on the light source and the position of the viewer. It encourages the viewer to look at if from many different perspectives. 

I combined different mediums to create this fun colorful painting. I added interference elements which cause the colors to shift from different viewpoints, an iridescent effect to add highlights and a bit of texture to create depth. 

This painting measures 18in x 24in x 1.5in and is on gallery wrapped wide canvas. It is varnished and will be sold unframed. With this painting, there is no need to frame as the work extends around to the sides.
